Mac and cheese



                        Mac and cheese is a classic comfort food that consists of pasta (usually elbow macaroni)                            in a creamy cheese sauce.

                        Ingredients for making mac and cheese typically 

include:         Elbow macaroni Butter All-purpose flour Milk Salt Black pepper Cheddar cheese 
                        (or a combination of cheeses) Optional 

ingredients: breadcrumbs, herbs, spices, diced vegetables, etc. Instructions for making mac and cheese                         typically include the following 

steps:             Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set                                aside. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until                                smooth, forming a roux. Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly, until the mixture                                thickens, about 5 minutes. Add the salt, pepper, and cheese, stirring until the cheese is                                melted and the sauce is smooth. Combine the macaroni and cheese sauce in a large mixing                         bowl. Transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish. Optional: top with breadcrumbs and                            bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes. Serve hot and                         enjoy!
